CRITERIA: Recorded essay on cassette tape or CD of between 3 to 5 minutes.

                     Regional participants receive $1,500

CRITERIA: Obtain contest rules from your local Legion Post.

AMOUNT: In 2007 10 @ $20,000 and 90 @ $1,000 were awarded

CRITERIA: Must participate in either an American Legion Boys State Program  or
                      American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Program.
                      Must be a direct descendant of a US veteran.
                      Applications obtained from your local Legion Post or www.legion.org

AMOUNT: $10,000     3 runners-up receive $2,500

CRITERIA: Registered active member of a Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team,
                      or Venturing Crew chartered to an American Legion Post or Auxiliary.
                      Obtain application from State American Legion Department Headquarters.

CRITERIA: 3 visual art students and 3 vocal students to compete, 16 to 22 years of age.
                      The art works must be original, realistic, abstract or expressive.

AMOUNT: $1,000

CRITERIA: Must be a Gold Award recipient. Active member of her religious institution and
                      must have received the appropriate religious emblem.

NAME: Christopher's Poster Contest                    9 - 12 graders                        DEADLINE: January 19, 2007

AMOUNT: 1st Prize = $1,000          2nd Prize = $500          3rd Prize = $250
                     Five Honorable Mention Prizes = $100

CRITERIA: Posters must be 15x20 inches in size and be received by January 19, 2007
                      Topic: "You Can Make a Difference"

AMOUNT: $1,000 for first-place State winners and also invited to Washington DC
                     State winners compete for $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 nationally.

CRITERIA: 1500 word Essay.

AMOUNT: 3 @ $ 1,000

CRITERIA: 500 word essay on theme "What my mayor & Governing Body do best".

NAME: Kohl’s Kids Who Care program                                                                       DEADLINE: March 15, 2007

AMOUNT: $200,000 awarded to 1,400 students nationwide 

CRITERIA: You must be nominated by someone in the community for your
                      Community and volunteer service at www.kohlscorporation.com

AMOUNT: 1 @ $250, $500 and $1,000

CRITERIA: 750 word essay on the Future Digital Dorm Room of the year 2020.

NAME: Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation                                                       Deadline: April 16, 2007

AMOUNT: $500 to $10,000

CRITERIA: Son, daughter or grandchild (WW2) of a Marine on active duty or in the Reserve.
                      Son, daughter or grandchild (WW2) of a former Marine or Marine Reservist who has received an
                                   Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge or killed in the service.
                      Son, daughter or grandchild (WW2) of an active duty, reserve or former US Navy Corpsman who is
                                   serving or has served with the US Marine Corps.
                      Family income is $65,000 or less. 2.0 or higher GPA.

AMOUNT: Up to $20,000

CRITERIA: Child or grandchild of a Marine or Navy Corpsmen serving with the Marines
                      whose parent is killed in the ongoing Global War on Terror.
                      No income limit. 2.0 or higher GPA.

AMOUNT: $500.00

CRITERIA: Juniors only.  School and community activities. 100 word Essay.

AMOUNT: 10 First Place Winners: Paid trip to Wash. D.C. plus $1,000 to $5,000 plus a Gold Medal
                     10 Second Place Winners: $300 plus a Silver Medal

CRITERIA: US citizen or permanent resident. Must attend the Performing Arts Festival in Iowa
