Students of the Month

Winston Roberts

(nominated by Mr. Haddock)

Winston is in my Honor Chemistry class.  A very hard woring individual that never complains or quits when the workload gets hard.  One of the most mature freshman boys I have worked with.

Darrah Sampson

(nominated by Ms. Williams)

Darrah is having an exceptional marking period. Her grades and effort have been very good. After two marking periods of work in the 70's, she currently has a 95 in my English class. Her class participation is great and she is a pleasant member of the class.

Darrah has demonstrated a significant turn around and I am very happy to have her in my class

I continue to be amazed and proud of how well Darrah does in my class, both academically and personally.  She has become a very active and integral member of the class community.  Her grades are exceptional, and demonstrate a huge turn around from the start of the year.  Her work is always done impeccably well, and she is always able to answer questions in class discussion.  Darrah will finish the third marking period with a 95 average.  Darrah is a very personable student who enjoys learning and understands the value of her education.

Lauren Colasurdo

(nominated by Ms. Williams)

Lauren is a student in my 11th grade AP English Class.  Lauren is an exceptional student and person.  Lauren is an excellent participant in the class, answering when called on, volunteering, and is a good sport when called to the board.  She is a very friendly and intelligent student who adds so much to the classroom environment.

Lauren is very active in the school community, participating in cheerleading and diving.  Even with these extra-curricular activities, Lauren achieves very high grades and always does very well in class.

Lauren is a very personable and mature student who I enjoy talking with.  She is very conscientious of her work and will often ask for guidance or direction with her work so that she is always on track.  She definitely has a love for learning and a great respect for the classroom environment.

Leigh Cunius and JL

(nominated by Ms. Acord)

I would like to nominate two seniors for student of the month.  Leigh Cunius and JL volunteer in my 3rd period developmental reading class.  The girls are amazing people and model students.  My students look forward to seeing both girls daily and when one of them is absent my students really miss her.  J and Leigh willingly work with individual students of several students in a group.  They make each of th students in my class feel special and good about themselves.  They both demonstrate a tremendous amount of patience, flexibility, dedication, and compassion.  They encourage and support my learners and help to increase their motivation.

Recently, both girls took it upon themselves to plan and coordinate a field trip for my developmental reading class.  They have sought funding in the community to pay for this trip.  The girls have brightened our classroom in so many ways, and as you can see, it is impossible  for me to nominate only one student.  I believe awarding Leigh Cunius and J students of the month will acknowledge each of them individually for their dedication and continuous support.
