Congratulations to Quarter 3 Honor and Merit Roll Students.

Mainland Regional High School is proud to announce its inaugural Mustang of the Month. The Mustang of the Month is a program designed to honor an MRHS employee for outstanding accomplishments. Staff and students alike nominate a member of the Mainland staff and a committee of the same chooses the Mustang of the Month.

Mr. Robert Roesch, Guidance Counselor, is the first recipient of the award. He has been a guidance counselor at Mainland since 2001 and is most notable for the coordination of the ACCC Jumpstart program.  Mr. Roesch says he is, "honored and flattered on being selected as the first recipient of the Mustang of the Month award especially because there are so many individuals at Mainland who either meet or exceed the criteria for this award." One of the perks of this award is that the award recipient gets to park in the superintendent, Dr. Dever’s, parking space. Dr. Dever is trading parking spaces with the Mustang of the Month and will park in their spot.

Erika Ferguson, Young Person Role Model Winner, Spirit of America program.

Erika Ferguson, 15, a sophomore at Mainland Regional High School, founded Helping 100, a youth service club comprised of approximately 25 students in grades eight through 12 at Northfield Community School and Mainland Regional High School. Erika and other club members recently volunteered 100 hours at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and also created 100 iCare packages, which included toiletry items that were distributed to families who live at the Rescue Mission. Erika received a $500 grant to organize a trip to the Cape May County Zoo for more than 20 women and children who reside at Rescue Mission. The event included a picnic lunch and gift for every child.

C to compete for the title of Miss Hispanic Alliance.

C, 17, of Northfield, will represent Mainland Regional High School in the 2008 Miss Hispanic Alliance of Atlantic County Pageant on Sunday, April 27th. C is a member of Student Council, Key Club, and Students Against Destructive Decisions, just to name a few. She also enjoys writing and acting, and she has received an award for her creative writing and history work. Her future aspirations include attending college and the police academy. She will read a dramatic poem about the dangers of drinking and driving for her talent. Nine contestants have been preparing for the annual pageant since January.
