AP Government & Politics/US History

Mr. Smith has taught at Mainland Regional HS since 1999.  He teaches AP US Government & Politics and US History I CP.  The AP Government course began in 2007 and sponsors a schoolwide Mock Election during presidential election years.  Students earn college credits studying the Foundations of American Government, Interactions among the Branches, Civil Rights & Civil Liberties among other principles.  US History I begins with Colonial settlement, to the Revolution and Constitutional Beginnings, Expansion, the Civil War & Reconstruction, to the Progressive Era.
