NJDFL (New Jersey Drama & Forensics League)
NJDFL is a competitive, performance-based league that features both dramatic and “forensics” categories. Throughout the Winter, members compete in a variation of 1-12 categories in an all-day tournament schedule (virtual). Practices are spent brainstorming, researching, selecting, and perfecting pieces for upcoming tournaments.
In a given season, categories can include a variation of: Dramatic Monologue, Comedic Monologue, Poetry, Prose, Dramatic Pairs, Comedic Pairs, Persuasive Speaking, Storytelling, Impromptu Speaking, Improvisational Pairs, Readers Theatre, Classical Monologue, Contemporary Monologue, Dramatic Oral Interpretation, Humorous Oral Interpretation, Musical Scene, and Musical Solo.
NJDFL’s Mission: To foster a competitive and creative outlet for high school students in the area of theatre and speech for the purpose of networking these students, while providing a forum for competition and constructive feedback as well as encouraging growth and development in the theatre/speech arenas.
