NJDFL (New Jersey Drama & Forensics League)

NJDFL is a competitive, performance-based league that features both dramatic and speech categories. Throughout the winter, members compete in a variation of 1-12 categories in an all-day tournament schedule. Practices are spent researching, selecting, rehearsing and perfecting pieces for upcoming tournaments.


In a given season, categories can include: Dramatic Monologue, Comedic Monologue, Poetry, Prose, Dramatic Pairs, Comedic Pairs, Persuasive Speaking, Storytelling, Impromptu Speaking, Improvisational Pairs, Readers Theatre, Classical Monologue, Contemporary Monologue, Dramatic Oral Interpretation, Humorous Oral Interpretation, Musical Scene, and Musical Solo.


NJDFL’s Mission: To foster a competitive and creative outlet for high school students in the area of theatre and speech for the purpose of networking with other students, providing a forum for competition and constructive feedback, and encouraging continued development in the theatre/speech arenas.
