Community Use of School Facilities

Everything you need to know about reserving a MRHS facility for community use.

Community members that are part of an organization may reserve school facilities on a scheduled basis. First preference for facility use will go to Mainland Regional High School's instructional programs, student activities, or activities of school-related groups.  Please refer to School Board Regulation 1330_P_Use of School Facilities October 17 2016.

MRHS Regulation 1330 requires that all requests be submitted at least 60 business days prior to the proposed event date.

Users may begin submitting requests for the next school year on July 1.  Requests for the next school year received prior to July 1st will be declined.

Fees - Rental, Personnel and Equipment

Fees are assessed for the rental of facilities, services provided by school personnel and for use of school equipment and utilities.

Rental fees are based on the purpose for which school facilities are used. When a request to use school facilities is for the primary benefit of the user, rental fees will be charged.  Groups that provide an IRS letter of nonprofit (501c) status will be charged nonprofit rates. The school districts and local governments of Linwood, Northfield & Somers Point, Full-Time Employees of MRHS running an event to benefit Mainland Students, and any other groups as determined by the Board of Education will be charged the Group M rate.  In addition to the purpose, rental fees are based on:

  • the type of space requested (cafeteria, auditorium, gymnasium, classroom, athletic field, etc.).
  • the length of time the facility is to be used.

Personnel fees are charged in cases when school personnel, such as custodians, cafeteria workers, technicians, supervisors, etc., are required to work. Personnel requested by the user may be increased by the school based on the type of activity and number of attendees.

Special fees are assessed for the use of such items as stage lights and stadium lights and for equipment such as microphones and projectors.
