Unified Sports

 

MRHS Unified Sports joins students with and without disabilities on the same team. Dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences, it is inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.  

Players with and without disabilities participate together as teammates on sports training and competition teams. Student partners may serve as mentors to assist teammates of lower abilities in developing sport-specific skills, tactics, and in successfully participating in a cooperative team environment. 

MRHS Unified participates in Soccer-Fall, Basketball- Winter and Track & Field- Spring throughout the school year!

3- Th- Track Practice: 3-4pm on the track, transportation provided home

9- W- Track Practice: 3-4pm on the track, transportation provided home

16- W- Track Practice: 3-4pm on the track, transportation provided home

23- W- NO PRACTICE- SPRING BREAK

29- Tues- Dual Meet with EHT @ EHT: 2-3:30pm- transportation provided home

 

May

7- W- Track Practice: 3-4pm on the track, transportation provided home

12- M- Brigantine Elks Lodge Luncheon

          -11am -1:45pm

15- Th- Delsea Regional Track Meet

          -depart 8:30am

          -arrival 9:30am

          -start 10am

          -pizza after at 12pm

21- W- Mainland Regional Track Meet (rain date= Friday, 5/23)

          -arrival 10am

          -start 10:30am

          -end 12:30pm

June

4- W- Banquet: School Cafeteria- 5-7pm (Invitations will be sent out in early May!)

 

What should athletes wear/bring to practice/games?
  • Unified shirt (green if you don’t have one yet) and black shorts
  • Athletic sneakers
  • Water bottle
  • Snack
